Answer to Puzzle Contest (from the winner):

"Berbers (not barbers) were a group of Jewish people in northwest Africa. The three E's would be Ethiopia, Egypt, and Eritrea, countries to the east."

Dictionary.com claims the Berbers are "primarily Muslim people" but Ed likely has a source stating otherwise. I majored in sociology, not Berberology, so I don't know offhand. The "three E's" referred to Tripoli (triple-E), but Ed's logic is probably just as good.
